Juice Cleansing and Fasting, cont'd
Eliminate rich, heavy foods first
It is preferable not to mix fruits and vegetables in the same meal during the transition and certainly not at all during the fast days. The transition diet eliminates rich foods replacing them at first with vegetable broths and raw salads, then only raw foods. Breakfast can be raw fruit salad and/or fruit juices, consumed between meals but preferably two hours before other foods are eaten. Fruits are best consumed separately as they require very different digestive enzymes and processes to vegetables and grains. Consuming fruits with your meals creates digestive confusion.
These guidelines also apply when transitioning back in to eating, if not more so. Don’t destroy the benefits of the fast by returning too quickly to regular eating habits.
The foundation of the fast
Deciding the purpose and goals of your fast determines which vegetable or fruit juices would be the foundation of your fast, depending on the specific condition you want to influence. The amount you consume is also determined by the condition. Remember, the fast of choice and how long you fast is determined by your medical condition, body weight, lifestyle, reactions and other individual factors. There are many good books to assist you in these choices, and, of course, seek out a person or a professional therapist who has the ability and experience to act as your support and guide.
During the juice fast specific herb teas can be consumed. The choice of herb teas should obviously relate directly to the condition you wish to influence.
Juices: powerful nutrition
Juices are powerfully nutritious, and delicious. A juice cleanse is capable of working, by today’s medical standards, real miracles.
Become informed! And expect to hear contradicting opinions. As you become more experienced you will develop the ability to determine what works for you. Books can only offer guidelines about juices and disease conditions, not about people and especially not about you. A health care practitioner you work with regularly can be your friend and guide to the extraordinary power of healing with juices.
Fasting and cleansing is simple and when approached with common sense is completely safe. For any serious degenerative condition fasting with juices has a proven empirical history of profound cure.
